Communication Systems
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ch. Diedrich
At the end of the lecture the students have knowledge about industrial communication systems. Besides knowledge of principal active principles of communication systems and services are included. The students are able to analyse and understand structures and services of real communication systems based an the ISO/OSI reference model. The students have knowledge about different physical realisation principles, bus access methods and application services of typical industrial communication systems. They will get basic abilities to configure Ethernet/TCP/IP systems and to classify the ttopic "Security". The students will get knowledge about active principles of typical industrial bus systems. By exercises the students are able to guided deepen research oriented ist abilities and to apply and asses in complex problem situations and to apply different communication systems.
Content:
- Overview about the ISO/OSI reference model
- Base principles of industrial communication protocols
- specification method for communication protocols
- Base principles of Ethernet/TCP/IP and common upper protocols
- Structure and active principles of industrial bus systems (e.g. PROFIBUS, CAN)
- device and controller integration of industrial communication systems
