SemAnz40
SemAnz40 is a joint research project funded by the federal ministry for economy and energy (BMWi) in the area transfer of research and development results by standardisation. This project shows how to realise Industry 4.0 use cases with unique data semantic using german and international standards recommended by the DKE standardisation roadmap Industry 4.0. Therefore SemAnz40 delivers a semantic base for the private economical development of products and processes for the Industry 4.0.

For Systems which are dependent on collaboration respectively cooperation with other systems the semantics of exchanged information must be modeled. This is related to machines which distribute production orders autonomously among each other or sensor data which are merged from regional distributed measures. Semantics becomes even more important if, for example, the measurement of quality deviations of a component from production is to be fed back online into design and simulation tools, calculated there and - based on this - the further production steps for this component are to be adapted. The involved partners must speak the same language. It is not sufficient to build up communication relations via interfaces respectively common communication protocols. The service orientation in future also requires a common understanding of content to be exchanged. Therefore machines, tools, products, offers, requests and orders must be described formally, machine processable. On the other hand these descriptions must be known by the designated partner and must be understood by him too. I.e. all participants have to interprete the meaning of the conveyed information in a common way.
SemAnz40 shows how to build an appropriate semantic basis for the information exchange in Industry 4.0 use cases based on already existing, latest and established standards.
