process control engineering

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ch. Diedrich

At the end of this lecture the students have base knwoledge about instrumentation of distributed digital automation systems. They understand how the instrumentation transfers the process of the designed control and feedback control technical algorithms into the real world. They are able to adapt abstract functional designs onto architectures of the automation technology and to capture its constraints. By means of exercises the students are able to guided deepen ist knowledge and abilities research oriented and to apply it in complex problems and to assess as well as to use control systems (PLC).

Content:

  • architectures of industrial manufacturing, process control and engine building control systems
  • principles of control systems
  • functional chain between electrrical signals and the adequate digital process value for measurement devices and actuators
  • behaviour model of control systems
  • architecture of industrial communication systems and its protocols
  • human machine interfaces
  • Batch facilities
  • service and maintenance
Exercise: Dipl.-Ing. Baumecker
